The R61505 is a single-chip QVGA TFT controller/driver for QVGA (240x320 pixel) resolution displays. The chip has 172KB of on-chip display RAM and supports the rich 260k colour-display capability which has made gaming and video applications popular on mobile handsets. The additional on-chip 10-bit write-only non-volatile memory reduces the need for external memory previously used for the storage of image quality adjustment data, of a destination ID code for shipment management, and of other additional information. The device also supports wide-angled LCD panels with an LCD drive voltage range of 4.5V to 6.0V. Other features include an on-chip hardware sequencer to handle the power supply start-up sequence. Integrated software contains a start-up instruction for this sequencer, enabling user-programming errors to be reduced and development efficiency to be improved. An 8-colour display mode, standby mode and deep standby mode are provided to further decrease power consumption.
