The 100mm deep WaveJet 300 Series is a line of low-cost, small-form-factor, portable digital oscilloscopes. The series comprises eight models (2 or 4 channels), covering the frequency ranges of 100, 200, 350 and 500MHz, with up to 2Gsample/s capability and 500 kpoints of memory on each channel. This long memory provides a class-leading capture time of 250µs at maximum sample rate, while other oscilloscopes in this class offer capture times of only 1.25µs at the same sample rate. Along with long capture time, WaveJet features a large 190mm colour display and USB connectivity, both of which are typically found in higher classes of oscilloscopes. The instrument allows users to watch variations in low-speed signals with roll mode, and to eliminate the effects of noise or spurious events with the averaging acquisition mode. The Page Mode capability provides unique insight into the waveforms being captured, enabling users to scroll through the history of waveform captures to isolate glitches, runts, or other signal abnormalities and view what happened before or after that event. Other features include a fast boot time and auto setup, an intuitive front panel with one-touch access to the horizontal, vertical, and trigger menus, and push-button knobs to automatically set delay, offset and trigger level. Colour-matched channel LEDs indicate which channel is active and whether they are controlling math or zoom traces. For fast measurements, users can chose from 26 automatic measurement parameters. Waveforms can also be processed with the built-in math capability of the instrument, including sum, difference, product, or FFT. A probe-sense ring is integrated for automatic probe detection and attenuation. The unit comes with one passive probe per channel. In this edition, Lecroy offers EPN readers the chance to win one WJ334 (the 4-channel 350MHz WaveJet model).
