To support the emerging WiMedia Ultra-Wideband standard, several alternate radios are offered for the new UWBTracer protocol analyser. This lets design engineers swap radio modules on the analyser in order to optimise compatibility with early prototype devices. This system for WiMedia-based Ultra-Wideband protocol verification features a modular architecture that allows users to enhance the system later by adding new or upgraded hardware plug-ins. Leveraging this extensible design, the successful qualification of a second radio component was announced; this component will be offered as a plug-in option for the UWBTracer protocol-analyser system.
