The DS15MB200, SCAN15MB200 and DS08MB200 aim to extend the reach of LVDS signals across cables and backplanes in point-to-point applications. The dual multiplexer-buffer configuration manages redundant differential data streams at speeds up to 1.5Gbps. Each half of the device provides a 1:2 buffer and 2:1 multiplexer for duplicating one signal into two output streams or selecting from two alternate input data sources. This architecture is a common building block for redundancy in serial backplanes and system interconnect applications. The LVDS capability makes the products suitable for conditioning signals from FPGAs and ASICs, which typically do not have high-performance output drivers. Their signal integrity features drive both data and clock signals over longer distances, enabling use of lower-cost cabling.
