The MLX71122 is the first member of a highly integrated RF receiver family qualified for automotive applications in the unlicensed industrial-scientific-medical (ISM) and short-range-devices (SRD) frequency bands. The receiver's programmable PLL enables the device to address all sub-bands of the European 863 to 870MHz band just by software. Even large frequency jumps across regionally different bands - such as the US 315MHz and the European 433MHz - are possible without changing the RF hardware. Worldwide, manufacturers of equipment for automotive remote keyless entry and tyre-pressure-monitoring systems as well as consumer- and industrialsystem makers benefit from the simplification of their production logistics and the indirect reduction in cost. The MLX71122 comes in a 32-lead QFN package measuring 5x5mm and accepts supply voltages from 3 to 5.5V with a typical current consumption of 11mA. The receiver's input sensitivity is as low as -112dBm for ASK and -107dBm for FSK signals, respectively. The chip dramatically reduces system cost thanks to its internal IF filter and FM/FSK demodulator.
