Tektronix will showcase the AWG7000 series of arbitrary waveform generators (AWG) at Embedded World 2007. The system is designed to meet the test needs for high-speed serial-data buses and wideband digital RF devices. With 5.8GHz bandwidth, 10-bit resolution, and sample rates up to 20Gsamples/s, it is currently the only AWG that can produce high-speed real-life waveforms including pre-/de-emphasis and multi-level signalling up to 10Gbit/s, according to the manufacturer. It is based upon a new high-performance platform that incorporates a new SiGe DAC to produce greater precision and performance. The converter utilises the IBM 7HP process to increase vertical resolution and sample rates.
