The AC-series photo IC outputs a voltage proportional to the logarithm of the light input. The optical sensor features a spectral response that is close that of to human eyes - from 400 to 700nm - with a 520nm peak wavelength. It requires no compensation filters. The device comes as standard-form-factor 5.0mm-diameter CdS photoconductive cells, and thus can easily replace such visible-light detectors. The AC-451 is designed to be used in the light range of 1 to 6000lux, and outputs 150µA at 1000lux. Applications range from automatic exposure sensors in cameras to lighting control in automated night-light systems or any other application involving the measurement of light levels. The AC-419 has an extra circuitry that cancels output variations due to temperature changes.
