The BlackChip micro-miniature antenna combines innovative features and high performance, with small size and low cost, in order to meet today's wireless consumer and enterprise electronic devices. The actual radiating element of the component is a mere 96mm2. Its performance is greater than 2dB peak gain across the 2.4-2.5GHz band and above 3dB peak gain across 4.9-6.0GHz. Its weight is only 0.21g and it operates across a wide temperature range of -40 to +85ºC. The antenna is suitable for use in applications including 802.11 a/b/g/n WLANs, Bluetooth, and UWB. It offers unobtrusive packaging and easy design implementation. It has a robust mechanical design and is surface mountable for placement directly on the system board. It can be placed along almost any board edge for optimum performance.
