The Galileo-ready A-GPS chip, u-blox 5, features an acquisition performance of less than 1s, and a tracking sensitivity of -160dBm that enables coverage in difficult indoor environments, such as shopping malls, train stations and urban canyons. The device integrates a 50-channel engine and exhibits a power consumption of less than 50mW, making it well-suited for GPS-enabled, battery-operated portable devices. The device's performance can be further enhanced with the AssistNow Offline service that provides assistance data valid for up to 14 days; it is stored in the GPS receiver.
