The S1D19501 series is a line-up of one-chip drivers for driving amorphous Si-TFT LCDs embedded with display data RAM (176x220x18bit) and capable of displaying 18-bit color depth on the mainstream display for mobile phones. By embedding a 220-output gate driver and 176 (RGB)-output source driver, as well as the power circuits needed for display, it has become possible for a single chip to display a TFT color-panel module of a maximum of 176 (RBG)x220 dots. As a one-chip TFT driver capable of this level of resolution, the S1D19501 series, which uses a 0.13µm process, is Epson's third generation of driver products, following the S1D19105 series (176x220x18bit) fabricated using the 0.25µm process and the S1D19121 series (176x220x18bit) using the 0.18µm process.
