A new version of Tanner EDA's interoperable electronic design software is available. Version 14 of Tanner Tools Pro and HiPer Silicon takes advantage of 64bit Windows platforms, allows for larger designs than the 32bit version and runs up to 25% faster than the 32bit version, it is claimed. The new version works the same way as the previous one but, for larger designs, gives designers the option to use as much memory as their Windows platform—the 32bit version was limited to 2Gbytes of memory. This version has no memory limits and is optimised for 64bit computers so that large designs can be accomplished in less time.
