Servoflo has introduced the MS5561C Micro-Altimeter from Intersema of Switzerland. This integrated pressure sensor offers a measurement range from 10 to 1100mbar with a 0.1mbar resolution. With 4.75×4.25mm size and 1.6mm thickness, the MS5561C includes a calibrated temperature and pressure sensor for 2nd order compensation, and has a three-wire serial interface for communication. The MS5561C is a low power device, utilising an input of 2.2V DC to 3.6V DC and a standby current of 0.1µA.
The output is a 16bit data word from a pressure and temperature dependent voltage. Automatic power down on/off switching is included. Typical high volume applications for the pressure sensor include mobile phones, GPS receivers, altimeter applications, personal navigation devices and digital cameras with altimeter function.
