Elettric 80 is demonstrating its automation solutions at the Drinktec fair in Munich on September 2009. A complete, fully operational, end-of-line chain will be built, and during the fair visitors will be able to follow the demonstration around the demostration plant.

Different beer cans, bottles and trays from various Elettric 80 clients will be handled from the end-of-production-line, palletised, stretch wrapped and transported by LGVs (laser guided vehicles) to the warehouse area and loaded into a trailer.

The displayed Freeway system will consist of different automation solutions. The newly developed, specialised palletising robot Dragon for Beverage, will demonstrate its ability to switch between handling cans, bottles and packages of different kinds and sizes, without any mechanical adjustments. Changeover between different products as well as maintenance and cleaning is quick and easy due to its new construction.

A stretch wrapping robot, from the series Silkworm, which from the basic version can be extended and complemented to reach a capacity of 180 pallets per hour. Visitors will be able to verify the pallet stability ensured by Silkworm wrappers, partially due to maximum pre-stretching.

Other machines in the Freeway system include two laser guided vehicles; a single pallet reach truck; a Giraffe, which can handle goods as high as 11m; and a counterbalanced truck with collapsible forks for single or dual pallet handling demonstrating block storage with millimetre precision and automated trailer loading.
