CSR has announced that SiRFecosystem's third annual Location 2.0 Summit will be held on October 2009 in CA during the CTIA Wireless I.T. and Entertainment 2009 tradeshow and conference. The Location 2.0 Summit will feature Fast-Pitch presentations and People's Choice awards to highlight innovation in the LBS industry. The company invites developers of interesting new LBS applications and technologies to submit their products and services as Fast-Pitch nominees.
The theme of 2009's summit is Connecting Content, People and Services, reflecting how content and connectivity have become an important part of today's mobile lifestyle. Summit attendees will vote for their favorite Fast-Pitch presentations, and the winners will receive a People's Choice Award during the evening awards ceremony.
The Fast-Pitch presentations are three-minute, high-intensity sessions in which developers get to pitch their innovative LBS applications to more than 200 global location industry executives. Entries should demonstrate the benefits of using the
power of location to improve enterprise productivity or enhance consumers' daily lives, and will be judged for inclusion in the Summit on how well they achieve this goal.
The closing deadline for all nomination entries is 13 September 2009. Nominations are open to all developers of current or soon-to-be-released, advanced location technologies and new LBS applications. The judges will be looking for the most innovative location technologies and original LBS applications that positively enhance enterprise productivity or consumers' daily lives, and three finalists will be chosen for each of the three categories: Consumer Applications, Business Applications and Next-Generation Applications. Finalists will be notified of their selection by September 15, 2009, and be will provided with instructions for preparing their Fast-Pitch presentation.
