The AS5215 from austriamicrosystems is a dual-die automotive magnetic rotary encoder IC based on the company's patented stacked-die technology. The IC can be implemented in existing system architectures, providing high-reliability contactless angle measurements that don't require any modification of the electronic control units. The amplitude of the output signal is programmable via sensitivity and gain settings. Due to its selectable output-mode signals—raw, inverted or DC-referenced—the IC can fit a variety of conventional motion-sensing systems. It provides improved phase matching and low sensitivity drift over the full ambient temperature range of -40 to +150°C. It is available in a TSSOP14 package and operates from a 5V supply.
