Pro4Wireless, the Swedish distributor of Adeunis RF radio products, has announced its participation as the official sponsor of KTH-Racing, an auto racing university team. The partnership will enable the development of car equipment with Adeunis RF's 500mW ARF53 radio modems. The modems are used for exchanging information between sensors (temperature and pressure) installed on the car and the technical team's central computer in the paddock, which makes monitoring possible in real-time throughout the race.
The modem was chosen because of its sharp reception sensitivity. The new generation of radio modems of the enhanced version ARF53 range provides optimised RF sensitivity (-112dBm compared to -108 previously). The modems will be used during all races that the team will participate in.
ARF53 is a 500MW RS232/RS485 or USB radio modem. It is available in European and American versions, and enables bi-directional data transmission over 6km for point-to-point or multipoint applications in particularly harsh environments.
