The Sentinel III set of components for battery monitoring addresses the needs of OEMs making uninterruptible power supplies and batteries, as well as those of systems integrators, LEM believes. The components create continuous battery monitoring within mission-critical installations such as hospitals, airports and data centres. Transducers, data loggers and software components are included. The company has also introduced the S-Box, a data logger with an embedded Web server, which enables administrators to monitor installations remotely. Data-logging features include bloc, string and battery-voltage measurement, bloc-temperature and impedance measurement, discharge performance and discharge/charge current. The data logger also records ambient temperature, a key factor affecting battery life. The transducer reduces installation time with DIN-rail mounting and an external temperature patch. Users can set up an alarm for each of the parameters that are measured by the transducers connected to the S-Box. As well as instant alarms, the data logger can provide a weekly report to the administrator, containing all daily measurements and critical system information.
