A 14.6Mpixel image sensor from Omnivision Technologies is capable of delivering high-resolution still photography and full 1080p high-definition video at 60fps. The OV14810 is for digital still/video cameras and the OV14825 is for mobile applications. The OV14810 allows users to have one device to capture digital still and digital video images in high-definition. The sensors uses the company's 1.4µm OmniBSITM pixel architecture for optimal performance and sensitivity in what the company claims is the industry's smallest format. The 1/2.33inch OV14810 has an active array of 4,416x3,312 back illumination pixels operating at 15fps in full resolution, or delivering full 1080p HD video at 60fps, using a binning feature to achieve higher sensitivity. In full high-definition video mode, the sensor also provides additional pixels for electronic image stabilisation. The image sensors use chief ray angle, which optimises each sensor for its end application: digital still or digital video camera and mobile phone use. The sensor is packaged in CSP for use in ultra-compact cameras. The OV14825 is also available in RW (bare die) for module integrators.
