Avago Technologies has introduced a 1MBd digital optocoupler. The compact low-power ACPL-M50L single-channel optocoupler targets designers of communication interfaces, microcontroller system interfaces, switching power supplies and digital isolation for A/D or D/A conversion applications. The device offers high-voltage performance and meets safe insulation requirements for reinforced applications. Available in an SO5 package size, the device supports a supply-voltage range from 2.7 to 24V and is driven by low forward-drive current with a high current-transfer ratio to allow direct drive from a microcontroller without the need to add a buffer chip. The device operates over a temperature range from -40 to +105°C.
