U-Blox has introduced Lucy, a family of high-speed wireless modules. The module supports a range of M2M applications such as high-bandwidth multimedia systems for mobile Internet and VoIP routing, in-car multimedia as well as streaming video for remote media panels and transfer of large data volumes for medical diagnostics, security and surveillance. The module supports tri-band UMTS/HSDPA and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE class 12 with embedded TCP/IP stack and SSL client. The module features an idle-mode power consumption of less than 2mA and operating voltage from 3.2 to 4.5V. The module includes an assisted GPS client for on- and offline telematics applications, and comes in a 45x37.5x3mm package with 60pin board-to-board connector.
