Solarflare's Solarstorm SFN4112F single port 10GbE SFP+ server adapter delivers high performance and consumes less power (below 4.5 watts). The device supports both direct attach copper twin axial patch cords for connections between servers and top-of-rack switches and optical fibre for switch-to-server connections or longer reach through a patch panel.

The device delivers low latency performance and full line-rate throughput on a single 10G port. Using a kernel-based network stack, the device offers significant acceleration to high-message rate and is suitable low latency applications. When combined with the company's OpenOnload stack, the device achieves TCP/UDP application latency of less than 5µs.

The device has architectural features such as stateless off loads; virtualisation support; and support for the company's OpenOnload technology. The device processes network and storage traffic such as iSCSI acceleration, IPv4 offload, RSS, MSI and MSI-X.

The device is built from the ground up to support high performance in virtualised server environments. The device's architecture provides up to 4096 protected interfaces to the host system, enabling virtual machine scaling and/or CPU core scaling. The device supports both para-virtualised and direct path acceleration for VMware ESX, Citrix XenServer, and Microsoft Hyper-V. The device is VMware IOVP certified and VMware Ready.
