Texas Instruments has unveiled its WiLink 7.0 single-chip solution, which integrates WLAN 802.11n, GPS, FM transmit/receive and Bluetooth technologies. This 65nm solution features advanced coexistence capabilities. The hardware mechanisms cancel out board- and chip-level RF interference at the source to simplify design process. The enhanced WiFi/Bluetooth/Bluetooth low-energy inter-core communication prioritises packet scheduling and supports more connections in parallel. The integrated high-performance GPS core offers 3GPP test performance, and multi-path resolution engine coupled with advanced algorithms reduces interference impact for more accurate positioning in urban canyons. The integrated Bluetooth core offers high RF performance and supports Bluetooth low-energy and Bluetooth 3.0 specifications. The WiFi core supports the WiFi Direct and Soft AP mode capabilities. The FM core supports internal antenna.
