Avago Technologies has released a compact, integrated incremental magnetic encoder for speed detection, knob control, and rotary encoder applications. The AEAT-601B, which is designed with a protective plastic housing for durability and high temperature performance, is easy to install and provides a resolution of 256 CPR (cycles per revolutions).
The device offers an integrated solution for angular detection within a complete rotation of 360°. The use of magnetic technology for motion control and sensing activities enables non-contact operation free from mechanical wear and tear. The device has a three-channel output enabling an index channel for every complete 360° full rotation.
The device provides designers with a closed loop feedback system to enable precise readings for their position control applications, which results in high motor position control. It is suitable for use in systems such as motor and valve control systems, pan and tilt systems for security cameras, and thread winding machines.
The features of the device include contactless sensing technology; wide operating temperature range from -40 to 125°, single 5V supply; easy assembly and absence of signal adjustment requirement; direct connectivity through cable output; and RoHS compliance.
