The PS1 from Eltrotec is a laser proximity sensor with adjustable optic that allows for setting an either round or elliptical light spot in various sizes. Even in fast processes and short cycle times, the sensor due to its switching frequency of 5kHz, can be used in assembly and supply systems running at high speed.
The sensor is used for controlling assemblies. It has small parts as well as electronic components on printed boards, making high resolution an important feature and allowing detection of parts from 0.1mm and up. Compact and easy to install, the sensor is suited for breakage control in machine tools. Elliptical light spot adjustment detects structured surfaces which otherwise might cause problems to small light spots. The precise detection on point 0.1mm is done by mechanical potentiometer. Sensing range varies from 55 to 300mm.
As a result of its background suppression, the sensor is not affected by either clear or changing surfaces. Detection of light or dark objects can be selected. Secure signal transmission to control is done through a switchable impulse extension reducing signal dropout by 40ms.
Laser protection class of the sensor is DIN EN 60825-1 class 2. The IP65 housing can be used for all industrial purposes and works even in vibrating equipment parts.
