CSSP (customer specific standard products) company, QuickLogic, has signed an agreement with Munich-based Data Display to bring the company's VEE (Visual Enhancement Engine) and DPO (Display Power Optimizer) technologies to the industrial and digital signage markets. This sector covers a variety of applications and uses, from information kiosks used in airports and hospitals, to signage used outside facilities such as casinos and shopping centres. The VEE technology enhances the viewability of displays under challenging viewing conditions. It dynamically optimises video characteristics on a pixel-by-pixel basis. Used in conjunction with VEE, DPO technology enables developers to significantly reduce energy consumption by lowering display backlight or power intensity without compromising the viewing experience. Data Display will also maintain an inventory of the ArticLink II VEE-enabled CSSPs for the industrial and digital signage markets. The initial focus of the partnership will be the European and North America markets, with expansion plans targeting Asian markets.
