Delta Electronics has added four filters to its range, developed specifically for manufacturers of electrically powered home appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers and refrigerators. The filters offer a selection of mounting options, from screw-fit to snap-on and clip-fastened (RAST 5) versions. They suppress electromagnetic interference over a broad frequency band, says the company, specifically against the noise generated from motors currently used in the home appliance market. The filters are available in current ratings of 10 and 16A and meet the safety standards of GWFT (850°C) and GWIT (750°C) as described in the IEC-60695-2-11 and IEC-60695-2-12 standards. Customised versions are also available. Pre-compliance testing can be conducted at the EMC Competence Centre in Soest, Westphalia, Germany to determine the electromagnetic influences on the customer's equipment. This service can also be performed directly at the customer's site with the company's mobile testing equipment and demonstrating how to solve EMI issues with the filters.
