Enea's software package for Freescale's AdvancedMC basestation reference design has a multi-core processing package based on the semiconductor company's MSC8156 DSP and QorIQ P2020. The scalable software architecture allows mutual customers to use a single transparent programming model across CPUs and DSPs. The reference design includes the company's OSE Multicore Edition for CPUs; the DSP-optimised version of OSE - OSEck; dSPEED, a suite of management, debug and error handling services for multi-core DSPs; Hypervisor, LINX, a scalable interprocess communications layer and Optima Eclipse-based tools. The reference design combines StarCore and Power Architecture technlogies and multi-protocol acceleration engines in a single-width form factor to provide a Layer 1, 2 and 3 baseband processing platform.
