Orion Fans has introduced a line of wire mesh, plastic, louvered, push-on, metal and filtered fan guards and kits, providing design engineers multiple guard options when evaluating fans for their specific applications. Whether the fan application requires finger protection and/or additional filtering to prevent dirt and dust from entering equipment, the company claims to offer every type of guard option for applications including enclosures, industrial automation, network equipment, medical equipment, truck and automotive. The wire mesh fan guard, which meets UL/cUL standards, is available for fan sizes ranging from 60 to 172mm. The steel wire is electroplated in nickel chrome and features welded joints that can withstand 200pounds of separation force and metal guards are made of such steel wires. Black finishes are also available and sizes range from 25 to 280mm. Plastic guards and plastic push-on guards feature a UL 94V-0 flame-resistant rating. The guards fit fan sizes from 40 to 172mm. Push-on guards require no additional hardware and are available for 60, 80, 92, 120 and 127mm size fans. Plastic louvered filtered fan guards are available for three fan sizes namely 120, 172 and 254mm. They are available in black while gray guards are available with special order.
