Mouser Electronics has announced that it is stocking the Freescale Semiconductor MMA8450Q three-axis digital accelerometer. The digital accelerometer is a motion sensing device that provides 12bit data with FIFO to accomplish complex gesture recognition and positive detection required for mobile applications that go beyond basic algorithms. The device, which is a three-axis low g I²C digital capacitive acceleration sensor with low power consumption feature, provides embedded intelligence such as orientation, tap, double tap, jolt, freefall, and shake detection. The device enables applications such as position detection, 3D gesture detection, pedometry, and motion detection functions.
