The miniaturised inductive linear encoder kit, ID1101L, introduced by POSIC has an encoder-head that measures 9.0x6.8mm, with a thickness of 0.9mm. The kit provides A and B outputs in quadrature. The linear scale is 3.7mm wide and 0.9mm thick, and is supplied with a length of 200mm that can be cut to length. The encoder is available in resolutions from 0.3mm down to 0.3µm. The maximum speed depends on the resolution and ranges from 100mm/s at a resolution of 0.3µm up to 40m/s at a resolution of 75µm or larger. The main feature of this kit encoder is its insensitivity to dust, water, oil, grease and magnetic fields. Typical applications are in the mechatronics and motion-control domains as speed or position feedback devices.
