Laird Technologies has introduced ODH24-9-WB horizontally polarised omni-directional antenna. The antenna operates in the 2400 to 2500MHz band with a 9dBi gain and horizontal polarisation. The polarisation increases the range of the antenna over flat surfaces and minimises vertically polarised signals produced by electrical and wireless devices, claims the company. The antenna also offers enhanced rejection of interference if that interference is vertically polarised in most WLAN systems. The antenna is constructed of rugged aluminium with an enclosure. There is a rugged mounting bracket for vertical, upright orientation. The antenna is designed for 2.4GHz ISM band applications, 802.11 wireless systems, point-to-multi-point systems, wireless broadband systems, and WLAN access points.
