Tyco Electronics has introduced a series of EMI/RFI filter products under its Corcom brand. The company claims that the new series of Corcom SB power line filters is an enhanced version of the Corcom B series filter and offers improved common and differential mode performance. A height of 38.86mm makes the new suitable for space constrained applications in industrial machinery equipment. Due to the compact height, the 30A version, for example, is only half the size of other 30A filters, claims the company. The filters can also be used as a simple clean up filter in a range of electronic applications such as TV/Audio/Video equipment, computing and accessories, home appliances, medical equipment, gaming machines and fitness equipment in several other industries such as appliances, lighting, data centers, communications, energy, automotive, medical, aerospace, defence and marine. The devices meet the current UL, CSA and VDE requirements and provide a strong insertion loss performance as well as a DC rating of 250V DC. Technical specifications of the filters include a rated current of 6 up to 30A, an operating frequency of 50/60Hz and an operating temperature range of -10 up to +40°C. Low leakage versions that meet current requirements of VDE portable equipment and UL544 non-patient medical equipment are also available.
