Analog Devices has introduced low-power, low-noise drivers for 14bit ADCs. The ADA4930-1 and ADA4930-2 ADC drivers drive DC to 1.35GHz signals while consuming 115mW of power and operating with a single supply. The drivers have a low noise specification of 1.2nV/rt-Hz and low distortion from 20 to 100MHz. The combination of low noise and low distortion ensures more accurate measurement and signal representation for 14bit ADCs used in electronic test and measurement equipment, data acquisition systems, wireless direct-conversion receivers and other wideband applications with data throughput of 40 to 200million samples/s. The ADC drivers feature a 0.9V output common mode voltage. The drivers drive the input of a DC-coupled, 1.8V ADCs all the way to ground, eliminating the need for a second voltage supply. The ADA4930-2 dual-channel ADC driver works with the company's AD9640 dual ADC, while the ADA4930-1 single-channel ADC driver is suited to operate with the AD9255 single ADC.
