Radiometrix has added the GTC01 GSM/GPRS platform to its wireless products range. The platform is self-contained and designed to support the Cinterion M2M Evolution range of GSM modems. The PIC-based platform has a programmable, 8bit Flash microcontroller watchdog, a SIM holder, RS232 compliant serial interconnections, and a set of user-friendly interfaces. It can be directly added to any application needing GSM connectivity and is compatible with the Quad-band Cinterion MC75i, TC65i and TC63i GSM modules. The PIC-based IC supports the 32bit ARM microcontroller in Cinterion units, providing controlled shutdown or restart in the event of a problem. This can be programmed with an in-circuit device to give external control of the GSM or non-GSM dependant outputs. It offers web connectivity through its TCP/IP stack, has Java included in the Cinterion TC65i unit, and can be reprogrammed or redeployed over the air in the event of a software issue. These modules require +5 to +13.8V DC supply, drawing a supply current of less than 40mA when inactive and come in a low profile 51x84mm DIL module format. They are suitable for low volumes in remote monitoring systems, telematics, industrial control, M2M communication, fleet management and security alarms, and have an operating temperature range of -25 to +65°C, and a storage temperature range of -40 to +85°C.
