Eurotech has launched the Vector, a low-power, EPIC SBC (single board computer) based on the Intel Atom Z5xx processor. At under 7W of power consumption and with no fans required, Vector is claimed to deliver the multimedia and I/O performance of the Intel Atom Z5xx processor family while minimising power and footprint. The flexibility and performance capabilities of the Eurotech Vector SBC are claimed to meet requirements for applications in transportation, industrial, medical, and defence markets.
Vector is available in an EPIC form factor of 4.5x6.5inches. It offers dual CAN interfaces, serial ports, high-speed USB, and Gigabit Ethernet. Multimedia capabilities include dual display support, VGA and LVDS interfaces, touchscreen and backlight. Vector offers a wide range power supply unit of 7 to 25V DC, and expansion options such as MiniPCI Express, Serial ATA, Solid State Disk, and SecureDigital or CompactFlash support. Any of these options can be used as memory or boot options for optimal flexibility in configuration schemes. Vector supports both commercial and industrial temperatures configurations. The SBC design is targeted for customers who want to plug a single board into their design and go to market quickly.
Vector supports Windows Embedded Standard and Windows CE, as well as Wind River Linux.Development systems are available now with operating system options.
