Cree has announced the commercial availability of lighting-class LEDs. With enhanced light output and efficacy, the XLamp XM-L LEDs are designed for high-lumen applications, such as high-bay or roadway lighting.

Cool white (6500K) XLamp XM-L LEDs deliver 1000lm with 100lm/W efficacy at 3A. In a compact 5x5mm footprint, the LEDs offer the new combination of high efficacy at high drive currents delivering light output and efficacy of 160lm/W at 350mA and up to 315lm and 150lm/W at 700mA.
