Schaffner offers custom liquid cooled dv/dt filters. In close cooperation with the manufacturer of power electronics, these filters can be tailored to the requirements of the system, claims the company. Dv/dt filters protect, for example, AC motors in drive engineering from premature aging or destruction by the PWM output signal, increase motor service life and hence contribute to overall system reliability. The new water cooled versions allow for lower losses and more compact designs and therefore support a higher power density.
The filters can be custom built for applications up to less than or equal to 1600A and less than or equal to 690V AC. The open panel design is optimised for cabinet integration without the need for an expensive filter enclosure. Wind turbines, central inverters, or motor drives equally benefit from the new filter technology from the company.
