Cyntech Components now offers a Quick-Custom packaging service. Prototypes of custom-designed plastic enclosures can be delivered within three weeks of agreeing the design. The company is also offering a free, 3D graphics rendering service to help designers experiment with final packaging styles in the early stages of product development. The service includes a two-day turnaround for the initial 3D industrial design to reduce product development time. When prototypes are approved, the first moulded enclosures are available within 25 days and full production quantities start shipping 35 days later. The enclosures, are used in instrumentation, control equipment and domestic appliances, and can include pre-formed cut-outs for switches, connectors and displays. They are manufactured using ABS, polycarbonate, thermoplastic polyurethane, or moulded rubber, sometimes combining these materials in a co-moulding to two-shot manufacturing process.
