The eTEG HV37 thermoelectric clean energy generator from Nextreme Thermal Solutions is based on thin-film thermo electrics. The generator converts waste heat into electrical energy for a variety of self-powered applications in the wireless sensor, automotive, aerospace, industrial and medical device markets. The product can produce 1.0mW of output power and an open circuit voltage of 170mV at a 10KΔT in a footprint of 6mm2. At 50KΔT, it produces 24mW of power and an open circuit voltage of 850mV.The module is 0.6mm high, and can be configured electrically in series. The device generates electricity via the Seebeck effect; where voltage is produced from the temperature differential resulting from heat flow through the device. The high voltage output is enabled by the proprietary micro-scale thermoelectric technology. Certain applications require a high density of thermoelectric elements in order to generate power at low temperature differentials. The thermal bump fabrication process achieves thousands of elements per square cm.
