For applications that face particularly tight space constraints, Suyin has developed the two-pin type 040068FR right-angle DC power jack connector (maximum 6.3V DC or 2A DC). This THT jack connector, equipped with a spring-loaded switch contact and a center pin with a diameter of 1.65mm, accepts a cylindrical DC connector with an outer diameter of 4mm. Its low height of 4.4mm above the PCB is achieved through two design techniques. Firstly, the jack housing is partially open towards the top. Secondly, its underside can be mounted in a way that is partially counter-sunk into the board by 0.9mm. The jack's underside, which is designed for in-board mounting, has a cross shape. As a result, after mounting, it is able to withstand strong removal forces in all horizontal directions, claims the company. The number of assured mating cycles is specified at 5000, the contact resistance at 20mΩ (initial) and the insulation resistance at 100MΩ (initial). A capton film on the top of the jack connector is claimed to ensure trouble-free automatic pick and place assembly using a vacuum-assisted pipette. The dimensions of the two-pole jack connector, with part number 040068FR003G100ZR, are 12x6.2x5.3mm.
