The FPX3-869-20 belongs to a family of high data rate transceivers from Radiometrix. The radio module uses the pan-European high power 869.4 to 869.65MHz allocation to offer half-watt RF power output in a small footprint, measuring 67x30x12mm. With its sensitive, -115dBm, 80dB blocking receiver circuits the transceiver makes for an adaptable data link device capable of achieving a range of over 3km. The basic 20kbit/sec module operates on one of two user selectable channels of 869.475 or 869.565MHz and features a fast Rx-to-Tx switching time of less than 3ms. It also shares a basic pin-out with a range of VHF and UHF modules in the SHX and USX families. An adaptable user interface gives control over operations through a simple serial port and analogue base band I/O and an RSSI signal, requiring a single +5V supply. It draws 50mA in receive and under 450mA (for +26dBm output) on transmit. The transceiver is suitable for applications where other frequency bands are congested or low transmit power limits yield insufficient range or reliability, including industrial tele-command tasks, machine control, fast, long range data modems and robotic/ mecha-tronic control functions. It is compliant with ETSI EN 300 220-3 and EN 301 489-3, for unlicensed operation across Europe.
