The LISA wireless module family from u-blox has been extended to include the LISA-H100 (for the USA) and LISA-H110 (for Europe and Asia). The UMTS/HSDPA data modems are dedicated to telematics and telemetry applications that require only data and not the full 3G bandwidth. The modems are backwards compatible with 2G (GPRS/EDGE) networks. Applications include automatic meter reading, point of sales terminals, remote monitoring and control, asset tracking, fleet management and remote sensor monitoring. The LISA-H modems are an extension of the earlier LISA-U family of full-speed HSPA 3.75G modules. Both families together provide a complete range of wireless modems optimised for low-speed M2M and high-speed Internet, voice and multimedia applications. The LISA-H family comes in the 3G modem form factor, 33.2x22.4x2.7mm, and each module supports dual-band 3G frequencies (LISA-H100: 850/1900MHz, LISA-H110: 900/2100MHz). LISA-H110 is suitable for container tracking applications as it can provide wireless connectivity worldwide.
All modules enable easy migration from the company's LEON GSM/GPRS modules and offer seamless 2G-3G handover. The LISA-H can be directly coupled with the company's GPS receiver to support location-based services and GPS-based applications.
