The CL400 Wireless Ethernet Bridge from Laird Technologies is based on the company's WISM+ 802.11 embedded module. The Ethernet bridge provides enhanced data throughput and security in an easy-to-use, point-to-point network. It is suitable for the M2M and industrial market segments by delivering a simple-to-use wireless Ethernet bridge that extends the range of networks beyond the reach of traditional 802.11 access points, claims the company. Available with an AC power adapter, standard RJ-45 Ethernet jack and antennas, the Ethernet bridge comes prepackaged with all necessary accessories. With no configuration necessary, users can simply plug in their Ethernet cable to apply power and have a wireless bridge at a distance up to one mile and speeds up to 11Mbit/s. Optimised for point-to-point bridge connections, the CL400 starter pack come pre-configured to communicate over a WPA2-CCMP encrypted secure 802.11 RF channel. The device optimises link speeds according to the RF conditions and distances between the units. Encased in a hardened metal enclosure and capable of operating over temperatures from -20 to +70°C, it can be stored at temperatures of -40 to 85°C. The device is also FCC/IC certified.
