Two high-speed, low-power, low noise ADCs from Analog Devices are for instrumentation and communications applications. The ADCs consume 310mW of power and use pipeline architecture. The AD9284 is a dual, 8bit, 250Msamples/s device whereas the AD9286 is a 8bit 500Msamples/s ADC. The converters feature signal to noise ratio of 49.3dBFS and allow a dynamic signal range with spurious-free dynamic range performance of 65dBc. The devices operate from a single 1.8V supply. Both are suitable for battery-powered instruments, handheld scope meters, and digital oscilloscopes. The converters can be used with the company's ADA4960 low-distortion, high-speed differential AADC driver and the AD9516 clock generator to provide a data conversion signal chain solution.
