Diodes has expanded its portfolio of patented Super Barrier Rectifiers with 12 and 15A rated devices in the compact PowerDI5 package. The devices are characterised by a low forward voltage drop that is claimed to deliver efficiency and cool operation. The 12A rated SBR12U100P5 and SBR12U120P5 offer blocking voltage capabilities of 100 and 120V, respectively and suit slim laptop, netbook adapter, LCD and LED TV applications. The 15A rated SBR15U30SP5 will fit the next-generation of solar panel design, says the company, where low profile bypass diodes are mounted directly beneath the glass. With a thermally efficient clip bond helping to achieve a high forward surge rating, the devices raise power supply reliability with increased protection against large turn-on spikes and enhanced overall thermal heat transfer.
