Maxim Integrated Products has introduced the MAX9636, MAX9637, and MAX9638 low-noise operational amplifiers in 6pin SC70, 8pin SC70, and 10pin UTQFN packages. The amplifiers feature 38nV/√Hz input-voltage noise density, 50fA/√Hz input-current noise density, and 0.1pA input-bias current. They help in interfacing high-impedance sources such as photodiode and piezoelectric sensors. The company claims that the BiCMOS process technology and design architectures enable the amplifiers to attain a good combination of size, low-noise performance, and bandwidth. The amplifiers operate from a 2.1 to 5.5V supply and are suitable for sensor interfaces in portable medical applications that demand low noise and low quiescent current. They operate from -40 to +125°C and also offer a low-power shutdown mode that reduces supply current to 1μA.
