Renesas Mobile Corporation announced that it has exhibited a mobile application processor SoC at the Mobile World Congress Expo. The SH-Mobile APE5R features Imagination Technologies' POWERVR SGX MP graphics processor and delivers good graphics performance together with multi-core computing and high-end multimedia for smartphones and mobile internet devices.
The processor achieves high graphics compute density with significantly enhanced performance. This enables smartphone and mobile internet device manufacturers to develop future-proof devices with console-class gaming capabilities and stunning user interfaces. The application processor combines high performance of the multi-core computing ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore and multi-core graphics of the POWERVR SGX MP with multimedia features of the company's application processor series.
