Laird Technologies has launched the HDDA5W HD series of dish antennas in a dual-slant construction. The dual-slant construction provides polarisation diversity for maximal-ratio combining, which lessens the impact of multipath interference. The dish antenna, available in six models, operates in the 4.9 to 5.875GHz band. The HDDA5W-29-SP and HDDA5W-32-SP are single polarity dish antennas with decibels of 29 and 32dBi, respectively. The HDDA5W-29-DP2 and the HDDA5W-32-DP2 are a dual-slant, dual polarity antenna and feature 29 and 32dBi.

The dish antennas incorporate a rugged design that contributes to a long operating service life in extreme environments. It meets ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) EN 302.326-3 DN1-DN5 and EN 300 833 Class 1 specifications. The unique feed system is available in a single polarisation version, which can be mounted for either vertical or horizontal polarisation. A dual polarised version is also available for systems which can utilise dual polarisation to increase bandwidth or implement diversity. An optional fiberglass radome is available for added environmental protection. The HDDA5W HD series is designed for 802.11 applications, OFDM (orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing) systems, cellular backhaul systems, point-to-point backhaul systems, and public safety communications systems.
