SiTime has recently announced that networking, storage, consumer and industrial electronics customers will now be able to access its SiT8003 and SiT8103 programmable oscillators with 25rpm stability to improve their system performance and reliability with no added cost. According to Piyush Sevalia, vice president of marketing, timing reference that offers good frequency stability is important to electronics manufacturers as it impacts overall system performance and reliability. The oscillators allow for standardisation across all designs and divisions, and simplify inventory management by eliminating multiple suppliers and part numbers.
The specification is available across both commercial and industrial temperature ranges. Additional key features and benefits include any frequency between 1 and 110MHz with five decimal places of accuracy, operating voltage configurable to 1.8, 2.5, 2.8 or 3.3V, four standard packages, enabling replacement of quartz oscillators with no board changes, and standby mode for low power consumption.
The oscillators are available in high volume production. The SiT8103 is offered in a 2.5x2.0mm package and operate at between -40 and +85°C and any frequency up to 80MHz.
