Available as a mezzanine add-on expansion board to EKF (extended kalman filter) CPU cards, the C42-SATA (serial advanced technology attachment) accommodates a 1.8inch SSD (solid state drive), as a rugged and fast mass storage media, which can be easily removed. Micro-SATA SSDs are available with 160Gbyte and beyond capacity, delivering ample space for installation of any operating system. A SSD requires less power and can be operated over a wide temperature range, thus enhancing the system reliability. The module has been designed to fit into the 4HP envelope of a CompactPCI CPU carrier board, so that another 4HP pitch mezzanine expansion board can be stacked above the CPU and C42 assembly in addition.
